## Quick Start for Contributors

1. Clone and create a branch:

   ```bash
   git clone https://github.com/quiltdata/quilt
   cd quilt
   git checkout -b my-change
   ```

2. Install Python task runner:

   ```bash
   # macOS/Linux
   curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh
   ```

3. Run Python tests:

   ```bash
   cd api/python
   uv run poe test
   ```

4. Run catalog locally:

   ```bash
   cd catalog
   npm install
   npm start
   ```
