Adoption

Adoption is how widely a tool is actually used. Stars approximate attention; real adoption blends multiple signals like dependents, releases, and backing.

Adoption is the degree to which people rely on a tool in practice. No single number captures it: stars measure attention, not use; downloads, dependents, release cadence, and who backs a project all add evidence.

Treating any one metric as "adoption" is misleading, which is why serious comparisons blend several signals.

In GraphCanon

GraphCanon deliberately avoids ranking on raw stars alone. The goal is a multi-signal view of adoption and backing so popularity does not masquerade as fitness.
