About trending

How does GraphCanon compute trending tools?
Trending ranks published tools by 30-day GitHub star delta from our append-only metric history. It reflects recent visibility and community attention, not product quality or editorial endorsement.
Is trending the same as best or recommended?
No. A high star velocity can mean hype, a launch, or a migration wave. Use category pages, compare pages, alternatives hubs, and trust reports when making stack decisions.
How often is the trending list updated?
The page revalidates hourly and reads live metric snapshots from the database. Tools without enough history show no 30-day delta until snapshots accumulate.
Can a tool appear on trending without being safe or maintained?
Yes. Trending ignores maintenance labels and security scans. Check each tool's trust report and GitHub archive status before adopting it in production.
Is there a machine-readable trending list?
Yes. Append .md to /trending for a markdown twin, or fetch /api/graphcanon/tools with sort parameters supported by the JSON API. The RSS feed also surfaces recent graph activity.
